Operators load the Sitma hoppers with multiple signatures or products.

The Sitma C80-750 polywrappers are at the heart of Gannett Offset/Springfield’s Precisionpac speciality packaging service. Marconi Print Pro on-line labelers allow up to 18 lines of information and are both bar code and graphics capable. Clients can select either standard polywrap which has a 3” white strip parallel to the final fold, or custom wrap can be ordered. Collectively the three Precisionpac systems can produce up to 18,000 copies per hour. The giant machines are more than 100 feet in length. The giant collating/packaging machines can produce a collective 18,000 products per hour.

After the wrapping is applied the products are then cut and separated into pieces .

It then moves to a quality control station where postal sortation information is verified.

As products reach the sealing station, the polywrap (either standard or customized) is applied.

Less than a second later, the sealed package has an inkjet address label applied.

Finally, the products are skidded for distribution either through the USPS or common carrier.
