GDMS began as part of a printing company. As a service to their customers, materials were stored and distributed after being printed. In 1968, Literature Control Services was incorporated as a storage company and mail house. In 1974, LCS was purchased by Falls City Industries and it continued to provide mail and fulfillment services throughout the 70's and early 80's. In 1985, 50% of LCS was purchased by the Courier Journal. Gannett Co., Inc., purchased the Courier Journal in 1986 and made GDMS a GCI entity outside the Courier Journal in 1987. Throughout this time, the business grew from a small mail shop to a facility capable of information management, telemarketing services, laser printing, etc. Gannett Direct Marketing offers more than 28 years of building successful direct marketing programs, positive working relations and many unique benefits.
